We have always sought to balance our business needs with our wider responsibilities to our employees, the community and the environment. In 2009 we took two major steps towards formalising our approach; we issued a Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability Policy and supplemented this by publishing our first annual CSR report which highlighted the progress and achievements during the previous year.
Further demonstrating our responsibility to the environment, we undertake annual assessments of our carbon footprint. The results of these audits show that the overall company’s operations have a negative carbon footprint. Although this represents an excellent outcome, it is important to avoid complacency and to achieve further reductions. We have in place a carbon footprint reduction scheme to assess and manage the environmental impact of our operations. In close liaison with our staff, we have developed Action Plans for all areas of the business and put in place a comprehensive monitoring regime.
