The autumn of 2002 saw the launch of Tighmór – a bespoke, country property building business. Specialising in securing new uses for redundant rural properties, Tighmór is currently restoring a number of rural buildings into individual homes.
In response to growing homeowner demand for country properties of character and quality, Tighmór are building unique individual homes which provide owners with the lifestyle qualities of rural living and the very best of modern building specifications.

Based in Perth and registered with the National House Building Council, Tighmór is a new division of I & H Brown Ltd. Developments are currently underway at Auchnaguie, near Dunkeld and at Longforgan, in the Carse of Gowrie; providing a range of properties from 2 bedroom mews cottages to 5 bedroom farmhouses. A third development at Cuthill Towers, Milnathort began in 2003.

Design, materials and craftsmanship are central to Tighmór’s development approach and is achieved by working with expert independent design teams throughout the life of the project. This includes conservation architects, engineers, kitchen designers and experienced building craftsmen.
Each development is tailored to the specific qualities of the site. An honest approach is taken to restoring the existing properties with the use of natural materials such as stone, slate and timber in a traditional manner.
Equally where new extensions and buildings are being constructed an exciting approach is being adopted to achieve contemporary and sympathetic designs.
This is complimented by innovative internal features including underfloor heating, computer network cabling and feature lighting. Designed, fully fitted kitchens and bathrooms combine to achieve Tighmór’s aim of creating “unique homes in inspirational locations”.
