The recovery of former industrial land for restoration or re-use has been an ever-present aspect of our business. Starting with the 1980s drive to restore former collieries, where we completed 50 projects in just our first 10 years, we have rarely been without a reclamation project on site.
We have carried out work at many of the country’s most recognised industrial sites – from the giant steelworks at Ravenscraig to the John Brown shipyard on the Clyde where the Queen Mary and both the Queen Elizabeth liners were built.
The types of activity within reclamation have tended to remain constant and are an excellent fit to our resources and experience. We are comfortable in tackling demolition (where we can offer an in-house capability), service clearance, de-vegetation and the removal of old structures, roads, drainage, hardstandings, etc.
This is another sector where we have been able to offer our Clients the benefits that flow from operating our own large plant fleet, including breakers, screeners and crushers.
